Saba Steel DRI plant set a new record in its production after loading the catalysts of Khwarizmi Technology Development Company.

According to Khwarizmi Public Relations, the Persian Gulf Saba Steel Company is the first producer of hot briquettes (HBI) in the country with a capacity of 1,500,000 tons per year. In January 2023, after unloading the DRI unit catalysts, which were procured from abroad, this complex loaded Khwarizmi DRI catalysts into its reformer for the first time. In February, the DRI unit of this complex started working again.

After loading Khwarizmi catalysts, Saba Steel plant broke its production record after 5 years and achieved a production beyond their managers’ expectations. For the first time, this company not only reached the nominal capacity of the unit (188 tons per hour), but also exceeded this capacity and achieved a record of 190 tons per hour, which was unprecedented in the history of operation of this unit.

Khwarizmi Technology Development Company is proud that its catalysts have set a new record in one of the country’s most reliable steel producers and once again portrayed the superior quality of its products compared to foreign samples.
