Khuzestan Petrochemical Company (Public Joint Stock), abbreviated as KZPC, is an important Iranian petrochemical company and the sole manufacturer of engineering polymers in Iran. Responsible for the Engineering Polymers Production Plan, KZPC was established on a land of 10 hectares on 17 March 1998 in order to fulfill its obligations under the IRI 2nd 5-Year Development Plan. Engineering polymers are a kind of synthetic polymers with special features, which distinguish them from other kinds. These polymers are widely used in different areas, and their distinctive feature is strength and lightness, which makes them ideal replacement for common metals in different industries.

KZPC is the first producer of polycarbonates and epoxy resins, two prominent engineering polymers, in the Middle East. KZPC’s products are widely used in telecommunications, electronics, power, construction, aeronautics (space), medical, safety, and other industries. Its construction began in September-October 2001 and completed in September-October 2003. The Phase I (Epoxy Resin Unit) was inaugurated in June-July 2004 by the then-President Seyyed Mohammad Khatami, and the Second Phase (Polycarbonate Unit), in December 2007-January 2008. KZPC has an annual nominal production capacity of 35,000 tons of end products (25,000 tons of polycarbonates and 10,000 tons of epoxy resins) and 30,000 tons of intermediate products (Bisphenol A).

In harmony with Article 44 of the IRI Constitution, since 2012, KZPC has been owned by the Private Sector (30% Edalat/Justice Shares) and Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, aka PGPIC (70%). KZPC in supervised by the IRI Ministry of Petroleum, National Iranian Petrochemical Company, and PGPIC.
